December 2025 minutes
LAKE COUNTRY ANTIQUE TRACTOR ASSOCIATIONBRANCH 145DECEMBER 1, 2025
President, Don Hatton, called the meeting to order at 7 PM with twenty five in attendance. Health concerns were: Wanda Sullivan, wife of Don Sullivan, a past president of our club, died around the last of October and Joe Bob Busby had a stress test today. The opening prayer was given by Lyle Metzler, the president of the North Texas Tractor Association. Minutes from the October meeting were distributed and approved as written. Copies of the financial report were passed out and approved as presented.
As is our Christmas tradition, the hat was passed for donations to a local charity. Sally Smith made the motion to give this year’s donation to the Golden Christmas Kids. Mac McMillan made the second and the motion was approved. $281 was collected from the group and Palmer Johnson made the motion for the club to round the amount given up to $300. Rudy Smith made the second and the motion carried.
Several past events were discussed:1. The Fannin County Fair at Bonham was a good pull. There were 25 – 30 tractors plus lawn mowers. They are going to try and get more publicity for next year’s pull. This will, hopefully, increase their attendance.2. The Winnsboro Trail Ride was very good.3. Golden got rained out.4. The Grand Cane Pull was good. Keslee Gandy got to drive her new tractor! 5. The Edgewood Show was very well attended. There were around fifty tractors.6. The Quitman Trail Ride had a light turnout but it worked out very well. The lunch was great!
There will be a Canton Swap Meet in 2026. It should be bigger and better than last year.
The next item on the agenda was the election of officers for 2026. The following is the new slate of officers that were elected.Safety Officer ------------Palmer Johnson
Treasurer -----------------Brenda Wisdom
Secretary -----------------Sally Smith
Vice President -----------Sean Matlock
President -----------------Mike Banks
President Hatton thanked the group for allowing him to serve for the last eight years. He said that it had been a pleasure and a learning experience.
Dawn Matlock volunteered to take care of the club Facebook page and Alicia Banks said she would like to take over the club website.
Our next club meeting will be on February 2 at Paredes.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05.
Respectfully submitted,Sally Smith
